Apple Accents
September 26th, 2011 PrintWith apples being in season as well as a traditional Rosh Hashana staple, we’ve rounded up some ways to use apples as a decorative accent for your yom tov table.
Carve out apples and fill with tea lights/votive candles.
Fashion a honey dish out of an apple.
Here’s the quick how-to from Pauline Assa via The Jewish Hostess:
- Take an apple and slightly slice off the bottom so that it sits upright.(leave a flat bottom so the the honey doesn’t leak out)
- Scoop out the insides with a melon baller
- Swish some lemon juice around the apple sides and top (this may be done the night before the holiday).
- Fill with honey.
Place fall foliage branches in a vase. Then insert that vase into a larger vase. Fill the space in between with lady apples.
