August 31st, 2010 Print

Israel Book Shop has just released a new 318 page book called “Struggle to the Summit – A True Medical Drama of Providence and Perseverance”.

It is the story of Rivka Zucker, a busy, but happy, thirty-year-old wife and mother who began experiencing unusual and frightening symptoms.

Upon receiving a potentially fatal diagnosis, her only hope for survival was a dangerous brainstem surgery. Although the surgery was successful, Rivka’s life was forever changed afterwards.  In Struggle to the Summit, you will follow Rivka as she embarks on her long and arduous journey to re-learn the most basic of skills and normal human functions, while trying valiantly to preserve her dignity and identity at the same time.

This book will make you cry, yet it will inspire you and bequeath you with a new appreciation for each “ordinary” day in your life.

It is available at your local Judaica store or online.

I know Rivka and until now I have only heard bits and pieces of her story. I can’t wait to finally read about it from start to finish. Seeing her around town with her beautiful children is very gratifying knowing all she has been through. I hope we all take the time to learn something from her inspiring story.
