Aish Temple Model

July 19th, 2010 Print

The best place to get a feel for what the Second Temple looked like is on the roof of the Aish Hatorah building in the Old City of Jerusalem. For 10 NIS per person you can climb to the most beautiful overlook of the Western Wall Plaza. There you will find a wide open space with two telescopes looking out on to the Western Wall Plaza and beyond and you will see a scaled model of the Second Temple. With the Temple Mount in the background, this is a fantastic place to envision what it was like.

For those of you reading this from outside of Israel we have included some great photos for you to share with your kids.

Keep in mind there is no elevator and there are a lot of steps and although there is a glass fence, parents must watch their children carefully. If you plan to walk through the Old City towards the Kotel then this is a MUST SEE.
