Mozzarella Baskets

Ingredients:

1 package wonton wrappers
1 ball fresh mozzarella
1 pint cherry tomatoes
1 package mushrooms
3 onions, sliced
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1 clove garlic
1 tablespoon bourbon
oil for frying

Directions:

  1. Mold wonton wrappers over a greased ramekin to form into a bowl shape. Spray the ramekin with cooking spray and bake at 375 degrees for 10-20 minutes, until they are light brown and crisp.
  2. Sauté the onions and whole mushrooms until the onions are soft, but not yet translucent.
  3. In a small pot, combine the soy sauce and sugar. Bring to a boil. Add the ginger, garlic, and bourbon. Simmer on low for half an hour. Pour sauce over mushrooms, onions, and tomatoes.
  4. Cube the mozzarella into small pieces and fry in oil. Place everything into the wonton bowls and serve immediately.

    Did this yesterday!! t’was awesome, everybody complimented!! I did it with yitzys precut dough since store was outta wonton wrappers, n was just as great! THANKS
