Texting is the New S-P-E-L-L-I-N-G

It’s one of the oldest tricks in the book. When you want to discuss something with your spouse that you don’t want the kids to hear, you s-p-e-l-l it and then when they get a bit older you speak it in a different language.
Well, now you will no longer have to pick your broken teeth up off the floor after trying your luck at Hebrew, Yiddish or Spanish.
E-mail, text and instant messaging have become the go-to technology for parents to communicate when on trips, on separate sides of the house and of course when trying to be secretive.
Parents who both own BlackBerries can text away for free using BlackBerry Messenger. Others use Facebook.
As with everything, it is important to maintain a balance. While texting may be highly convenient for day-today tasks it should never replace lots of face-to-face talking.
