Beautiful Crudité Centerpiece

April 22nd, 2010 Print

Martha Stewart has a beautiful (and edible!) hors d’oeuvre centerpiece that resembles a vegetable garden patch.  It is perfect for spring and barbeque season!

Buy a large, deep galvanized-metal planter from a garden-supply center, line the bottom with sprouts, and pour in enough water to moisten them. Arrange vegetables, such as cherry tomatoes, carrots, radishes, asparagus, and cauliflower, in sections inside the container, varying the colors. Serve immediately with an herb dip, or cover with moist paper towels and refrigerate up to 2 hours.

Giving each person their own dip is a great added touch.

I have made this almost every shabbos in the summer- a cinch to prepare and looks fantastic- personally I use the more usual veggies ( baby carrots celery , peppers( those bags of small assorted ones work great!)tomatoes, mushrooms etc) I set it up the same way in a glavanized bucket. In mine I use small plastic inserts and keep two dips as part of the sections. thanx for sharing!
