Even those who appreciate fine wine may be looking for something different for the Sedarim. The taste of fine wine is savored by slow sipping and not by gulping down the glass – or kos – in one long drink as is required by the Seder. Good wines also tend to have a high alcohol content which makes it difficult for those of us with responsibilities throughout the night.

Therefore, for many, a light and sweet or semi-sweet wine is preferable.
